Reentry Awareness Week 2019 is HERE!

Reentry Awareness Week is back! The Cuyahoga County Office of Reentry and our community partners are excited to celebrate with you by bringing you seven (yes, seven!) events between Monday, April 22nd and Saturday, April 27th.

This week will increase public awareness of the barriers individuals face when returning home from a period of incarceration and highlight ways the larger community can help people successfully reintegrate. In 2017, the County Executive and County Council dedicated the fourth week of April as Cuyahoga County Reentry Awareness Week to show its commitment to strengthening outcomes for individuals returning home from incarceration. During Reentry Awareness Week we will have workshops covering fair housing practices for people with criminal records, an employment fair, a Cash Mob Restaurant Tour, a legislative breakfast and more! We are even organizing a full-day small business workshop to help returning citizens jump start their entrepreneurial ideas by learning the legal requirements for starting a business, marketing practices, financial literacy and other useful tips. All events are up on our website: reentry.cuyahogacounty.us.

Reentry Week partners include Cleveland Neighborhood Progress, the Cleveland Public Library, ECDI, Jump Start, Dominion Energy Charitable Foundation, Jewish Federation of Cleveland, the Northeast Ohio VA Healthcare System, Cuyahoga Community College Veterans Initiative, Forest City Brewery, Greenbridge Commons, Edwins Leadership & Restaurant Institute, Towards Employment, The North Star Reentry Resource Center, Enterprise Community Partners, The Legal Aid Society of Greater Cleveland and The Word Church.
